Simple DIY Sweet Potato Dog Biscuits

Posted on

Welcome to the Test Kitchen! For the first time ever we are getting into the kitchen to try out new and fun recipes for pets, incorporating some of our favorite products! This is Milly, she'll be helping us out in the kitchen and will give us two paws up or down for each recipe we try! Let's get started!

If you're looking for a delicious and healthy treat for your pups this holiday season, look no further! We headed to our kitchen to whip up some healthy, simple, sweet potato dog biscuits that anyone can make! This recipe is so easy, it only has 3 ingredients! It is also wheat and dairy free, which means it’s perfect for most pets, even those with allergies.

To get started, preheat your oven to 350° and pull out your food processor. Pour in two cups of Rolled or Quick Oats and pulse until they become a coarse flour. Next, add about 1/3 of a large, cooked Sweet Potato. Measure two tablespoons of SuprOmega Fish Oil, adding to the mixture.

We choose to use the SuprOmega Fish Oil over other oils to ensure pups will get the benefits of DHA & EPA fatty acids as well as an all-natural form of vitamin E, in addition to the nutrients from the oats and sweet potato. Pulse until combined. Finally, add 2-4 tablespoons of water, one tablespoon at a time, until the mixture has a dough consistency.

Knead your dough into a ball, then roll it out about ¼ inch thick. You may need to dust your surface with flour if it is not non-stick. Cut shapes or use a cookie cutter (we used our favorite bone-shaped cutter!) and place them onto a well-greased pan. Bake for roughly 20 minutes, checking on the biscuits toward the end to make sure they don’t burn. You may need to bake a few minutes longer depending on your oven.

Let your treats completely cool, then either wrap them up for your pup’s stocking or let them enjoy right away!

Milly Paws: Two Paws Up! The biscuits were such a hit, Milly's brother photo-bombed her just to get his own biscuit!!
